Created in 1837 in Paris, 29 rue Sainte-Catherine (today rue de Sévigné) by Anatole Jauffret (1810-1856) in the former Hotel Saint-Fargeau. The students were going to the Charlemagne college nearby. The instution used to make the student repeat thei lessons by by famous professors such as Pierre Larousse a,d Hyppolyte Taine. Among the students were the children of Victor Hugo, Adolphe Giraldon, Edmond About, Jean Jaurès and Émile Durkheim. Jauffret became one of the most famous institution in Paris. The institution moved Place Royale in 1860 after Anatole Jauffret passed away. M. Courgeon and M. Beaumont became directors.

The share is signed by M. Courgeon. Very small issue of 700 shares only.
